Hospices of Hope is holding its first ever cocktail making event in Bar Trend, Crowborough on Thursday 5th December at 7pm.
Learn how to create perfect cocktails in time for Christmas. Caroline from Bar Trend will demonstrate her talent at mixology by making two different cocktails and then guests will have the chance to try their hands at creating their own cocktail.

The “life after Beacon” workshop, which Chamber members have been involved in over recent years, will be held at Beacon Academy on Tuesday 5th November. The objective of the day is to energise students on what they need to do to set them up for the future, with a specific focus on helping the students gain an insight into the world of work (developing employment skills) through mock interviews and an employer based talk.
Beacon is therefore looking for at about 4-6 employers to interview the students and provide feedback, the interviews are expected to be held between 12.00 and 1.30 pm.
Objective of mock interviews for students
· To understand the need to develop and demonstrate the required employability skills (defined as Enthusiasm, Passion, Potential, Commitment, Positive Mental Attitude, Social Skills, Dress Sense/Appearance, Resilience, Adapting to Change, Communication)
· To experience the process, what is required in the outside world, and what it takes to be successful (research, appearance, appetite for the job).
What does the student experience?
15 minute interview with 5 minute feedback, 5 minute wrap up/note taking.

Hendall Manor Barns Tuesday 15th October, 10am - 4.30pm.
The course is for companies that require someone with First Aid training or if they need to renew their qualification (First Aid certificates last for three years from their date of issue).
Learners will develop the skills and confidence to help someone who is: unresponsive and not breathing, including how to use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), unresponsive and breathing, having a seizure, choking, bleeding heavily, suffering from shock, burnt
The course also includes information on: assessing a casualty, monitoring a casualty, where to get help, accident recording and reporting.
This course is run by an external, accredited First Aid company. The cost per person is £75 (VAT not applicable) and will include E-Certificate (upon successful completion of the course), lunch, tea/coffee refreshments and secure free parking, set in Hendall's lovely, rural venue.

The sponsorship would include logo on the flyers and posters and on social media and also a mention at the event, they are looking for £250 so that they can cover the costs of the event which will enable them to send more of the money raised to their beneficiaries.
Taking place on Thursday 5th December, the night will start with a brilliant cocktail making demonstration for two different cocktails. After this, you will have the chance to make your very own cocktail. As well as the two cocktails, the night will also include a welcome drink and nibbles!

Crowborough’s Christmas Fair, organised by the Town Council, is scheduled to take place on Friday 22nd November.
The Fair will start at 4.00pm and will finish at approximately 6.00pm when the Christmas lights will be switched on by a celebrity from this years’ Tunbridge Wells Panto. There will be a road closure in place from 1.00pm and stall holders will have staggered access to their stalls from 2.00 - 3.00pm onwards.
Stalls will be available to businesses at £15.00 per stall and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

The MHCLG has recently launched a European Regional Development Fund focused on enhancing the competitiveness of SMEs. The funding aims to promote entrepreneurship, support the creation of advanced capacities for products, services and development and to support the capacity of SMEs to grow into regional, national and international markets. There is budget of approx. £10m to be allocated with bids expected to be for £500K and above. The funding round closes on 30th September 2019 with projects being delivered by June 2023.
